FEA Documentation

FEA Documentation

(OP)
Hi,

I am a recently graduated structural engineer working in the aerospace industry. Since I spend almost every hour at work working with MSC FEA products (Nastran and Marc), I am looking for documentation on FEA. To be more precise, I am looking for the FEA equivalent of Bruhn and Niu.(I am particularly looking to increase my knowledge on results interpretation, local plasticity, mesh validation, etc.)

Your help is much appreciated.

Marc

PS- I have already look in the FAQ (http://www.eng-tips.com/faqs.cfm?fid=384) and half the links are dead...

RE: FEA Documentation

read the msc manuals (both  the blue books and all the other documentation)

RE: FEA Documentation

Hi Marc1205,

For a beginning you can download from NASA the following report: "Verification Procedure for MSC/NASTRAN Finite Element Modelling" A. Stockwell, NASA CR 4675.

You can also refer to the thread "NASTRAN/FEA Guidelines for Aerostructures" under Aircraft Engineering.

Regards

Andries
