Split Face Question

Split Face Question

Split Face Question

(OP)
Hello all,
I have a simple 20"Ø cylinder with 0.5" wall 24" long.  I need to add a texture to the middle 22" leaving one inch on each end "untextured".  I created planes one inch from each cylinder end and created a sketch circle on each plane making them coradial with the cylinder ends.  SW will not split the cylinder face using this method even though it seems like an acceptable method.  I know I could do it a few different ways but I think this way should work.  Suggestions as to what I may be missing here.
Thanks in advance,
BB

CBL - Thanks Much.  If anyone needs me I'll be sitting in the corner with the Idiot hat on :)
