Trim end of pipe
Trim end of pipe
(OP)
I am trying to master some piping features (2007 sp5)
From my tool box > structural steel I bring in a piece of pipe and extrude it. Then I bring in another size and position it so it becomes an offset Tee.
How can I trim the excess that protrudes into my original pipe if I start from the center plane? If I start from an exterior plane and project "up to body" or "up to next" I am left without a hole.
I can think of a number of round about ways or possibly making the whole thing without importing structural steel.. but there must be a "proper" way to accomplish this.
Thank you for your time
Ralph

I can accomplish what I need by using the "offset entities" setting the offset to a small value and then extruded cut. Messy but working...

But now... I notice that the selection of choices available from Insert > Weldments > Structural Members is a lot less than the choice from Toolbox > Structural Steel.
Is this a function of some file location problems that I have overlooked? Can the libraries be combined?
Thanks again
