who is using Revit MEP from Autodesk?

who is using Revit MEP from Autodesk?

(OP)
Hi folks,

I'm investigating how to best get our company (A/E firm) up to speed to effectively use Revit MEP.  I'm curious to know from other folks out there:  when it comes to doing this type of 3D design - are engineers mostly working directly with the program? Or traditional CAD Designers?

Thanks!

RE: who is using Revit MEP from Autodesk?

We just finished an industrial building design using Revit MEP.  The main reason for using Revit MEP was the owner wanted energy analysis.  The IES modules work well with the program.  We had to build the architectural model since the architect did his stuff in Autocad.  It took time but the construction drawings were created quickly.

The users are junior engineers and engineering technologists.  Our firm does not hire CAD staff, only technologists and engineers who can use CAD software.  Due the capabilties of Autocad and Revit MEP, there is little need for CAD staff to just create drawings.
