All the standard methods for piping design apply.  The most likely Code to apply is ASME B31.3, Process Piping.

You must also remember that some things are different for very large diameter (RELATIVELY thin wall) pipe, especially when it come to support.  These systems also seem to see a lot of dynamic events (e.g., two phase flow and slug flow) and they are usually not designed to accommodate these loads (dynamic loads are not anticipated).  So positive means of limiting the movement of the flare lines (while assuring enough movement for expansion-contraction) is recommended.  Some flare lines will see auto-refrigeration, especially where vessel blow-down lines enter the main flare system.  So this must be investigated as a possible design condition.

Regards, John.
