Toolbox question

Toolbox question

Toolbox question

(OP)
We currently use toolbox in a multi environment, but I have noticed with 2008 that our descriptions of fasteners.i.e.(driven length) will not work properly now.Custom properties.
My question is regarding how to use the box. I was reading a Matt Lombard toolbox article and he suggests that a 'Copy parts' path would probably be better than the config style master approach.  That way you can have custom properties labeled which will work with your personal BOM.
What downfalls are there to changing?
Is there any newer documentation for 2008 SW toolbox because things have changed since the 2004 documentation that I find now.
