New PC

New PC

(OP)
Hi,

I'm due to get a new PC next week and would appreciate some advice on re-installing SolidWorks.

I have several concerns including licence transfer, saving my settings, service packs (currently running SW2008 SP3.1) etc.

Any advice on how to make a smooth transition would greatly appreciated.

RE: New PC

Run the 'copy settings wizard' and put the generated file somewhere you can access it (thumb drive).
Before getting rid of the old PC, open SolidWorks then go to Help->Transfer License.

When you initially install SW, you'll be promoted as to whether you want to install the latest SP.
