help on sketcher dimensions

(OP)
Hi, I am very new to UGS and I am using NX5 just got it two weeks ago. When doing sketches for modeling my horizontal dimension has a strike through; how can I adjust the sketcher dimension attributes?

Thanks,
Rob

RE: help on sketcher dimensions

If you don't want to change the position of the dimension, change the leader type from left to right or right to left whichever is suitable.

Ok guys thanks for those tips!

Where would the correct area/menu be to adjust sketcher attributes? Is it in customer defaults?

Thanks,
Rob

RE: help on sketcher dimensions

What do you mean by 'Sketcher Attributes'?  Check out Preferences -> Sketcher... to see if these are the sort of things you're talking about.  But if you're talking about stuff like dimensions, just go to Drafting and set it up there like you were setting up your drafting standards.

I am looking to adjust the way sketcher displays its dimensions when modeling, such as size or scale, dealing with arrow heads, font, and leaders ect.

Thanks again, and on Monday when I get back to my desk I will check out "Preferences -> Sketcher".

RE: help on sketcher dimensions

To change them individually, select the sketch dimension, then MB3 (right click) and choose Style.  Use the Style dialog to change what you wish.

To change them permanently so that your sketch dimension settings are used every time you create a new file or start NX, you'll have to do that via the Customer Defaults (File -> Utilities -> Customer Defaults).  This can get hairy for new users, so I'm gonna stop here for now and if you have problems with the customer defaults, please post back.

John,

I sent it to your old address by mistake.  Outlook's history of recipients doesn't update via the contact info I guess.  New email to correct address was sent.

Thanks for letting me know.

Tim, thanks for the info on that. I couldn't do anything today since our recently installed net working license was giving us problems.
