Graphics Cards (Cheap vs. Expensive)

Graphics Cards (Cheap vs. Expensive)

Graphics Cards (Cheap vs. Expensive)

(OP)
A basic question regarding Graphic Cards.

What is the difference between low-end (cheap) cards and more expensive cards.

For example,

NVIDIA Quadro FX 360M
NVIDIA Quadro FX 1600M
NVIDIA Quadro FX 3600M

On the SolidWorks website, all of these cards received the same 'Passing' Rating for 2006, 2007, 2008, and all support RealView.

Assuming the same processor and memory, what differences would I notice while running SW with the different cards?

Is it simply the quality of the display on my monitor, or the speed at which the screen re-freshes, or will it affect the rebuild times of the model, etc.

If I am working with smaller assemblies (<100 parts) and parts that aren't too complex, will I have problems if I go with the FX360M?

Any information that you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Lou
