RE: SolidWorks acquires CircuitWorks

Good news for those with SW Premium.

cheers

RE: SolidWorks acquires CircuitWorks

Circuitworks is fine as far as it went but when I looked at it last it produced a part file of the board which was 'dead' as far as extracting any intelligence from it. Fine only as a space model. A far better 'bolt on was the program from EDA-Desktop in Aussieland. Brought in the board with tracks and then populated it with all the components in an assembly. Quite breathtaking to watch happening on the screen.

Small print- No I do not work for them.  Just a very impressive gold partner program

RE: SolidWorks acquires CircuitWorks

Azum,

What you describe with respect to CircuitWorks sounds an awful lot like CircuitWorks Lite (included with Office Pro, if not SWX base).  I thought the full-blown CircuitWorks produced an assembly in SWX when importing IDF data.

When was the last time you looked at CircuitWorks?

RE: SolidWorks acquires CircuitWorks

Yes, CircuitWorks created an assy, and the parts on it. I don't remember, but is there an option to make it a part and not assy?

Good news for SW to purchase them.
