Pros & Cons of General purpose & Stub ACME

I would like to know the pros and cons of General purpose & Stub ACME thread.Is one better than the other in terms of functionality or strength?
I was able to obtain equations for General purpose ACME thread, Shear Area and Stress Area calculation.Will the same equation be applicable for Stub ACME?

References to documentations that support the theory will be very highly appreciated.

The formulas are the same for both the thread forms.  The bearing rating would be lower for the STUB ACME threads in comparison to the REG ACME.
As pointed out in the above thread, the machinery handbook is a good source for the dimensions and the formulas for stress calculations.

Stub Acme threads are approximately 75% the height of the full form Acme.  Stubs are used in areas of thin wall, where material thickness is a concern.

Equations for Acme and Stub Acme are virtually identical, though there is the obvious adjustment for thread height.  Otherwise the threading allowance, pitch tolerance and attention to thread form are virtually identical.  Obviously they are not as strong as full form Acme, but you can get some incredable axial loads.

They are extremely common in oilfield applications.  You can get API or ASME specifications on them out of your local technical library.  They are available online.
