Sphere of Influence origin & Attached Geometry

Sphere of Influence origin & Attached Geometry

(OP)
Hi all

I'm working some geometry modeled in Solidworks 2007 using ANSYS (11) Workbench. The analysis is of a plate under biaxial loading, so I've set it up as a plane stress problem in workbench.

I've used DesignModeler to bring in my geometry & parameters via an Attach feature, and openend this geometry up in Simulation.

In simulation, I created a coordinate system at the centre of a hole so that I can set my mesh sizing in the vicinity of the hole using the "Sphere of Influence" option.

When I change my dimensions from workbench and update the part, the coordinate system moves accordingly, and my mesh control still indicates that it is referencing the coodinate system, but the centre of the sphere  hasn't moved. As a result, my mesh sizing is 'lopsided' around the hole. The only way around this that I've found is to point the Mesh Size feature to the global coordinate system, and then back to the csys at the centre of the hole. This is now a problem because I want to use Design Explorer to explore different hole spacings/configurations, and I'd like for my mesh sizing to follow the holes as they move around.

I'm not quite sure if there is something I'm missing when applying the mesh sizing or creating the coordinate system, so if anyone has experienced this before and knows a way around it, I'd appreciate your advice greatly.
Thanks in advance
JKG
