fuel in diesel governor

fuel in diesel governor

fuel in diesel governor

(OP)
I have a 4 cyl. Chinese diesel (same type they used in some imported tractors) The engine has 400 hours and runs perfectly but has started leaking diesel fuel into the lower half of the inline injector pump and governor.  About 10 hours and fuel runs out the gov. breather cap.  A reputable shop (says) they rebuilt the delivery/primer pump, but it made no defferance.

in thread71-48: diesel injector/governor oil, Techno touched on this for a similar but smaller engine.

I thought someone might have run into this on these Chinese diesels.

RE: fuel in diesel governor

It sounds like one or more of the high-pressure pistons that actually injects the fuel into the cylinders (at 3000+ psi) are leaking by, so I fail to see why rebuilding the delivery/priming pump (at ~ 25-50 psi) would make any difference.  Am I missing something?
