Condensate Contamination

Condensate Contamination

Condensate Contamination

(OP)
Hello,

I need to know what all types of contaminants one can expect in the condensate? Do we have any reference material / website where this information is available?

Thanks in advance.

RE: Condensate Contamination

Sillica
Sodium Potassium
Chlorides
Oxigen
Copper
Iron
Sulfites and Sulfates

all those are often found in the condensate as contaminent that can affect your engine

General electric web site might have more info

RE: Condensate Contamination

Depends on your system.  You can add a few other gases also such as ammonia and CO2.
In a good tight system with the right materials and treatments you will pick up nothing, but reality says otherwise.

RE: Condensate Contamination

If the geothermal well is two phase then after the separation plant you will get  a small amount of the brine/or water phase in the steam. You will also get all the non condensable gases (H2S, CO2 etc) in the steam phase.

Carried over brine/water will contain all sorts of dissolved chemicals. See Joshs post above. But I would be supraised if there is Oxygen.

Dry steam wells can have the same cominates plus dust.
