parent View of config'd part isnt dictating projected views

parent View of config'd part isnt dictating projected views

parent View of config'd part isnt dictating projected views

(OP)
I have a multibody part.  And a drawing file of it.  3 configurations on the part.  The separate configuations have the different bodies deleted for this very purpose.

here's the tally:
default config. has 2 bodies, (like an assy)
2nd config. has body #1 showing, and body #2 deleted
3rd cofig. has body #2 showing, and #1 deleted

drawing, sheet 1 is the dfault configuration (like assy)
drawing, sheet 2 has detail of body #1
drawing, sheet 3 has detail of body #2

Now, we go to sheet 2, with part opened and on 2nd config,
I add parent view to the sheet.  Then make a projected view from it.
for some unexplained reason, I need to change that sheet to use config. #3 so I go to the "parent view"/properties, then pick the config. #3, and expect that to change the projected views also, but it doesnt.

#1  Is this a software problem, do I have my settings wrong, or am I asking to much from Solidworks?

Please any feedback on this is welcome.

RE: parent View of config'd part isnt dictating projected views

What you're seeing is normal.  A section view will update if you change the parent view, but a projected view won't.  I think this should be turned in as an enhancement request.
I use Lenny's ConfigManager macro. It will change the configuration of all drawing views, just make sure your views aren't set to display "last saved configuration."
