chart for low temperature

chart for low temperature

chart for low temperature

(OP)
I am looking for the chart that shows the one day low mean temperature across the US. This chart is used to determine
the MDMT for pressure vessel design. I can visualize the chart but I don't know where I last saw it. It kind of looks like the wind charts in the ASCE standards.
Can anyone refresh my memory as to where this chart is?

RE: chart for low temperature

Check with the US weather service.

RE: chart for low temperature

I believe it is in API 650.

RE: chart for low temperature

bobfromoh,
It is indeed the API650 as chandljm noted above, the 11th ed. 2007, Fig.4-2.
Check it out.
cheers,

RE: chart for low temperature

In ASME VIII, the MDMT is eastablished based upon process conditions, not necessarily by weather-related data.  I don't think the API-650 charts should be the sole basis for pressure vessel service.  Vesssels are much smaller and may react more quickly to atmosphereic changes.  The thinking is different for a storage tank.  It gives good data for average daily temps at at your site.  AWWA D100 has a newer version of the same chart.  So does NFPA-22
