ASSEMBLY MATES

ASSEMBLY MATES

ASSEMBLY MATES

(OP)
I have 4 identical parts that need to be mated in different locations with identical mates is there a quick way of copying the mates and applying them to the separate locations ie 4 blocks into 4 box section ends.

RE: ASSEMBLY MATES

Not that I know of.  The best thing to do in this case (if possible) is to use a component pattern.

RE: ASSEMBLY MATES

Try adding a mate reference onto the part you are inserting, this will speed up the process, but will create new mates not use the existing ones.

RE: ASSEMBLY MATES

If everything is in the same plane you can try to use the Multiple Mate function as well.  I find that speeds things up a bunch.

RE: ASSEMBLY MATES

If you are using SW 08 you can use the Copy with Mates feature. The interface is a little weird to get used to, but it works well.
