Will a sandblasted titanium weldment rust?

Will a sandblasted titanium weldment rust?

Will a sandblasted titanium weldment rust?

(OP)
I have a titanium weldment (3 pieces, 6Al-4V)which is being used in an ice climbing product. After welding, I am having it sandblasted to give it a nice finish and wish to leave it in this form. In the past, I did not sandblast the weldment, instead I anodized it. My customer now has a concern for corrosion on this weldment - their reason being that since the sandblasting has opened up the pores in the metal, it will in fact rust (is that true?). I personally own titanium products of the same material and finish and have had no ill effects over several years. Should I have this weldment plated or anodized in some way, or are these concerns actually not concerns at all?
Thank you for any help,
Steve

only if the blast media is dirty and you embed iron into the surface.

I 2nd Edstainless's comments.  If you use clean blast media, blasting should be no problem.

Nothing worse than an uneducated customer.  Have them provide you some refernces on "metal pores" that don't involve sintering or people selling items to "seal them", and that should keep them busy for a while.

Thank you very much for the responses. I'll verify clean media and be on my way.:) This customer is kind of known as a guy who puts up false roadblocks all the time - starting to drive me crazy.
Thanks again,
Steve
