ANSYS modal analysis

ANSYS modal analysis

(OP)
Hello all,

I am currently working on a modal analysis of an electrical motor IN USE.

I can only use ANSYS to do it, what is the best way to do that?

I had a look to ANSYS'help, but only found modal static analysis (only possible loads=displacement with the module "modal analysis"...) or very basic examples of dynamic mass-spring system with the module "Harmonic".

I got an ProEngineer model of the motor, could I use it in ANSYS ? or should I model it directly in ANSYS in a basic way ?

Thanks for your answers, & sorry for my poor skill in English ;)

Thomas

Thanks, I didn't see there was a specific ANSYS forum ;)
