damper

damper

(OP)
Hi,
How can I calculate damper (vent) size for blowing 110 CFM across it? I want to use natural convection. (i.e warm air from sunspace is vented to another zone through this vent).

Thanks

DBS

RE: damper

The draft (pressure) is proportional to the difference in density/temperature of the zones and the difference in height of the grilles in those zones.

This is going to be very little pressure, so the larger the duct, the better the  heat transfer.

Borrow a duculator or read ASHRAE for duct pressure drops.
