Foundation Certifications

(OP)
Anyone have tips on foundation analysis and inspection per HUD-7584.  These seem like they would be fairly straightforward if you have all the manufacturer's specifications and hopefully the foundation plans.  I'm being asked to certify a Fuqua model from 1979 here in Redmond, OR.  The appraisal report states that the foundation is concrete runners.  Just wondering if anyone has some experience to share.

Thanks

RE: Foundation Certifications

Download the HUD manual. There will be a checklist in it to "help" you. We have declined to do these because the mortgage companies want you to do the inspection and write a letter for a fairly small amount. The learning curve and the travel are keeping us out of the goverment loan program.

RE: Foundation Certifications

I do do these, but only locally, usually charging four hours time for the inspection and letter.

The main concern is the tiedowns, size, frequency and connections to the foundation.  The presence of mudslabs helps too, but is rarely present.

Ndy porches, decks or roofs need to be free standing, not attached to the Mobile itself.  Otherwise, there will need to be special support under the mobile to an additional strip foundation which is not the norm at the exterior wall.
