Rainfall -to- I-D-F Curve procedure needs checking

(OP)

I'm trying to convert NWS 24-hr rainfall data (east coast) into I-D-F curves. The application I'm using is asking for values rainfall depths for the 5, 15 and 60 min intervals.

Let me ask, should I be dividing the 24-hr rainfall depth (from NWS Hydro35 maps) BY 24x60x60...and then mulitplying the result BY either 5, 15, 60.. to get the required depths?

RE: Rainfall -to- I-D-F Curve procedure needs checking

Careful!

Is it possible you are confusing rainfall depth, in inches, with rainfall intensity, in inches per hour ?

good luck
