Hi
Im after some help to calculate the time a gearbox will rotate a component through 120degrees.
I have a 1400RPM motor connected to a gearbox with a 442.76:1 ratio, therefore giving an output of 3.2RPM
The gearbox shaft is to rotate a component between two limit switches, so the angle of rotation is 120 degrees.
For some reason I have got it in my head I need to calculate to radians per second to calculate the time taken to rotate to component from 0 to 120deg…is this right ?
If so do I then divide the RPM by 2Pi / 60 to give Radians per second then multiple by the angle of rotation ?
Any help is appreciated as an explanation of the formulas so going forwards I should never have to ask again !

Well I just used the degrees ie 3.2 rpm *360/60
that gave a angle of 19.2 degrees per second.
then divide this into 120 degrees and that gives 6.25 seconds to go 120 degrees.
