Does anyone know if there is any optical simulation products that work with NX ?

RE: Optical Simulation

What do you want to simulate?

There is ray traced rendering software which will faithfully if you model a lens faithfully enlarge objects placed behind it in the model. It is just used for making images though I don't know what other analysis or simulation that you may require. Other than that I could tell you.

Best Regards

What I want to be able to doe is see how rays of light are effected by passing through different surfaces.

Ideally I'd like to pick an origin point and vector to create a bunch of rays then see how the interact with the surfaces of a lens bases on Snell's Laws.

At this stage a simple 2D check to see it the design concept is heading in the right direction is all I'm after.

There are commercial products that can do this and a lot more but most see to be for Catia or Solidworks

Once I'm happy the design is OK I can pass it on to one of our other designers for a full analysis, but that means translating  into Catia and running a full blown analysis.

If I could cut down on the number of times we go through that process it would be good.
