Mechanical Properties and Temperature

(OP)
I'm trying to find out how the mechanical properties of grey cast iron (Gr250) vary as temperature increases, ie. yield strength, tensile strength etc.  Does anyone know where I can find this information or what standard i can reference to find these results?

RE: Mechanical Properties and Temperature

www.ironcastings.org. or grey and ductile iron society should be able to provide the data you are looking for.  if you have access to past volumes of British Cast Irob Research Association (BCIRA), i am sure you can get a lot of papers by Cox, Gilbert, etc.

RE: Mechanical Properties and Temperature

Try to see if you can get hold of an older booklet by the Grey and Ductile Iron Founders Society called:

"The Properties of Grey Iron"

This booklet has the information you require and is a reprint of Chapter V, Part 1 of the "Grey Iron Castings Handbook.

Some libraries have copies of the booklet and handbook.

There are also some available for purchase as used.
