Help with 2D drawing references/links

Help with 2D drawing references/links

(OP)
I have a 2D drawing that references a single part. That part has been changed and is a different file than the drawing currently references. How do I make the 2D drawing recognize the newly revised part? It seems like it should be easy enough  but I don't have a lot of CATIA experience and everything I've tried has been unsuccessful. Thanks for any help.

RE: Help with 2D drawing references/links

I am working on this project along with db and after going through the referenced threads we still have had no luck with it.  The new part we're trying to link the drawing to was given to us as a solidworks file and we imported it into CATIA as a step.  Could this be the reason we are having no luck?

Thanks,
Ryan

RE: Help with 2D drawing references/links

Copy the new geometry to the ORIGINAL CATPart and try updating the CATDrawing.  You "might" be able to save some views but not the dimensions.

Or SaveAs the ORIGINAL CATPart then Copy-Paste the 3D geometry to keep same UUID and replace links.

Honestly, I don't think you'll have much luck.

But Good luck anyway!
