Vessel Extraction

Vessel Extraction

Vessel Extraction

(OP)
Just looking for any other methods of extracting a vessel (8metre) with a suitable crane but without the use of the Lugs to get it up out of position. How else could the vessel be attached to the crane and then removed?

Cheers

RE: Vessel Extraction

Being a bit flippant: You could cut it into pieces and remove that way.

Seriously, why would you not weld lugs on?

yeah was just to get some random answers its not a major problem.

Not allowed access inside the vessel to bolt up the lugs, the current lugs have not to be used as they are rusting and might not hold the vessel (6Tonne).

RE: Vessel Extraction

Bolt blind flanges to the nozzles and weld lugs to the blinds.

RE: Vessel Extraction

Depending on how bad the lugs are I can almost guarantee you the shell and Nozzle are in worse shape if you are afraid to pick the vessel by the lugs I damn sure would not use any other part of the vessel as it will be in as bad a shape as the lugs... since the lugs are probably the thickest part on the tank!!!! Not sure your situation or surrounding area but I would it out in pieces with a plasma cutter and allot of safety personnel and slowly remove the vessel piece by piece

Would be very interested in the out come
