Extended Coverage Pendent Head in twin tee construction

Extended Coverage Pendent Head in twin tee construction

(OP)
Is there an ECOH Pendent Sprinkler that is listed for use twin-tee construction ? I have a bit of a situation on my hands with a parking garage-to make a long story short, I am currently using the Tyco EC-11 ECOH sprinkler which has a specific use in twin-tee construction but the listing is for the upright sprinkler only. In a portion of the garage the slab slopes up which put the sprinkler lines that the upright is fed from below the clear height of the garage. I want to run the lines up inside the twin-tees and have a pendent sprinkler 1" below the bottom of the tee. Every other heads I have found shows it as being listed for non-combustible, obstructed construction such as concrete beams, which is not necessarily the same as concrete twin-tees. I have looked at virtually every head that Tyco, Reliable, Viking, Victaulic, Globe makes and haven't found anything yet. Any help from the online fire sprinkler community would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

RE: Extended Coverage Pendent Head in twin tee construction

Perhaps you should consider using standard coverage instead of extended coverage in this area??

RE: Extended Coverage Pendent Head in twin tee construction

I hate to say it, but I think you are SOL trying to have a pendent listed for this use.

You may want to try calling Tyco or Viking direct and speak with their technical services dept to see if they can give you some insight.
