how to open subassemly in new window

hi all,

Can anyony tell how can i open subassembly in new window from a parent assembly already opened?

Thanks in advance

RE: how to open subassemly in new window

Right click on it in the spec. tree and go to product.object and chose "open in new window".

If you are working in Enovia VPLM then it depends in which mode the parent assembly has been stored in if it's possible or not

thanks azreal for the reply

am working with enovia vpm.then how can make it so that i can open sub assy in new window

RE: how to open subassemly in new window

If the main assembly is stored with publication expsed, meaning that you can see the whole structure in enovia then it not possible. It's a failsafe they put in since R13, I think, so there wouldn't be any inconsistencies or lost data during save.

I would recommend you to use load children and unload branch instead.

thanks again for the reply
i tried with load and unload for the sub assy, but there was an error saying that , you cannot apply the load or unload command  for the seleceted components

do you have any other work around?

RE: how to open subassemly in new window

Sounds strange, I know the feature is little picky, you need to have the right level active and so on. Figure out the logic, I use it, but right now I don't have the VPM connection so I can't try.

The other way is to send the subassembly from Enovia to catia, expand the main assembly in enovia and highligt it and rigt click to send to catia as assembly.
