Bend table question

Bend table question

Bend table question

(OP)
Hi,

A quick one:

Anyone know of any limitations of having entities on Sheet 2 of an Excel-based bend deduction table?

I've done a lot of setting up work and have a lot of calcs on Sheet 2 that populate the values into Sheet 1 (which SW looks at).

Before I use this template for all future components, I'd be interested to see if anyone had any concerns or had had any issues with doing this.

Cheers,

Simon

RE: Bend table question

Simon,

You are using one of the jewels of the Design Table in SWX, the fact that it uses Excel.  Sheet one can easily reference cells in another sheet and even, I think, cells in other files.  All of the values controlled by the DT must be on the same sheet, but they can come from almost anywhere.  You should be good to go.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I've just tried a couple of tests and the cells seem to reference each other ok.  Providing when you exit the bend table, you leave Sheet 1 open it seems to find the data ok.

Cheers,

Simon

RE: Bend table question

That is a good clarification about the open or active sheet.  I am reinstalling SWX right now so I cannot check it out, but I recall the DT uses the Active sheet when there are multiple sheets.  I do not believe it has to be the leftmost sheet, although that would be a preferred practice.

RE: Bend table question

A suggestion would be to add a text box informing a future user that the specific sheet must be active upon exiting the DT.  Make the taxt box a bright color so it really stands out.
