Hello,
I am trying to analize the flex of a plate under its own weight when supported in all four corners. How is this done, as it will output nothing unless you put a force on top of the plate. Surely this can't be right???? Any ideas??

Thanks in advance.

RE: Structural Analysis Catia V5R16 SP08

May be you need to add gravity...

Yes, if so, how? Which command would this be? maybe i'm looking right past it!!?? Does the fact that the part has material (density) asigned to it not take care of this??

RE: Structural Analysis Catia V5R16 SP08

Add accelerataion and set it to 9.8. The feature is called acceleration and is in the Loads toolbar.

Like itsmyjob stated you need gravity and that is gravitational acceleration

Thanks Azrael for your precision.

Density is not enough. Density and Volume give you Mass, Mass and gravity give you weight.
