not able to create a section cut view from main view

not able to create a section cut view from main view

(OP)
Hi,

I'm not able to take a section cut from a view, in Drafting work bench. The error message is "Section cut computation has failed for body 'partbody' of part 'xx'". Any ideas to overcome this problem please?

Thanks
CatMann

RE: not able to create a section cut view from main view

Try a slightly different plane for your section.  CATIA can sometimes blow up when the section cut is tangent to an area of the part.   If you move the section plane and it works, you can start tweaking that plane to figure out where it blows up.

RE: not able to create a section cut view from main view

CATIA sometimes has trouble sectioning right at a symmetry plane, if you have mirrored your part.

If you have a full history, you can also start at the bottom and deactivate each feature until you find the one that is the culprit.

Many thanks for your views. I had a work around with the steps you told and finally put the total features in a different body and added this body by a boolien operation to the part body...and.. it worked out.
