Solid WOrks 2007 Lightweight Appearance Change

(OP)
Can anyone suggest why the rendered appearance of some of my parts are different when set as lightwieght or resolved?

I've  set the materials/appearance of each component in part mode, saved the parts, and then created an assembly. Before rendering everything looks normal in the correct colours. However, if I reload the assembly as lightweight and attempt to render again, about 1/3 of the parts are rendered with the default light grey material/appearance. Then when I rotate the model and clear the render from the screen the correct colours are shown in the standard 3D view. I've managed to select all the problem components and set them as resolved and this renders fine, but is there any reason why this has happened in the first place?

Thanks
