natural gas pipeline sizing

natural gas pipeline sizing

natural gas pipeline sizing

(OP)
does anyone know a good reference for sizing nat gas pipelines at either 90 or 600 psi , delta P per 100 ft .
any good cost data on $/ft installed with cathodic protection versue pipe diameter

RE: natural gas pipeline sizing

google weymouth and panhandle A.  As of march 15th, pipe steel goes up $75/ton.  The cost of cathodic protection is so small, its sometimes is just misc or contingency.

Bottom line the cost for a line is as low as $20,000/in-mile to $100,000/in-mile.  In plants I use $1,500,000/mile for any size up to 10".

Labor is different, ROW, all kinds of factors.

What mid-term was this one on?

RE: natural gas pipeline sizing

I use the Weymouth Formula for High Pressure Compressible Gas Flow from Crane 410, Page 3-3, Equation 3-12.

Otherwise for 60degF, the NFPA 54 method is just as good.

RE: natural gas pipeline sizing

Weymouth is for low pressure, Panhandle is for High pressure
