Hi; According to QW-424.1 we should perform seperate PQR to qualify unassigned materials. If we have a PQR for A572-Gr50 and we want to weld St52-3 which is equivalent to A572-Gr50, is it necessary to perform another PQR or we can consider it as P No.1 and use P No.1 PQR?

Does this involve boiler/pressure vessel code work? If so, you cannot arbitrarily assign or assume P-No's to base materials. You will need to qualify a separate procedure.
