SP 3.0 graphics change?

SP 3.0 graphics change?

SP 3.0 graphics change?

(OP)
I upgraded to 3.0 and now all of my models have lost their Pizzazz. Everything is grey and must be opened in part mode and updated.
And if I have the Photoworks add-in turned on, the access to the Edit Color and Edit Texture is locked out. My question is whether or not this has happened to others and if anyone knows if this is some kind of bug in the upgrade?

RE: SP 3.0 graphics change?

If it is a bug it is not global. My install at work is working fine. A LMB or RMB on a face of a single part or in an assy, and selecting Appearance Callout offers both the colour and texture tabs. At home, however, all I see is the Real View icon. Both systems use the same graphics card (fx500)

cheers

Cor,
Do you have the PhotoWorks Add-in?

Yes

RE: SP 3.0 graphics change?

That's it! Turn the add-in off.

I only installed SW08-SP3 at work yesterday and hadn't turned the add-in on. As soon as I did the colours changed, and the colour and texture choices were replaced with the Real View icon.

Just realised I haven't changed the VC driver yet either.

cheers

RE: SP 3.0 graphics change?

SP3 has had multiple issues recently. I would not recommend making the move quite yet. I would wait a couple of weeks before making a SP jump.

RE: SP 3.0 graphics change?

Any one able to shed some light on the SP 3.0 problems.
Since reading this I have waited to upgrade from SP 2.1

Thanks

RE: SP 3.0 graphics change?

I am running SP3 at work and home without problems, but then I'm not doing any large assemblies or complex parts. If you aren't experiencing any major problems with SP2.1, you might as well hold off for SP4.

As with any version release or SP update, you should run tests (with separate copies of production files) to check that it is OK for YOUR products and system setup. What works for one company may not be at all suitable for yours.

Don't bother with SP3.1 when it arrives; it is basically for Vista x64 compatibility.

Not a bug. That is intentional.

RE: SP 3.0 graphics change?

SP3.0 seemed to solve some crashing problems for me but I would defer to Mr. Baugh on when to install if you are not having any serious issues. I am curious as well to know what issues have come up with 3.0.
