Fuses for CCVT

Fuses for CCVT

Fuses for CCVT

(OP)
We do have a design with fuses on the CVT box and fuses in series with the CVT one located in a common junction box.

I understand some utilities prefer eliminate any type of fuse on instrument transformer to minimize the possibility of down time.

Consulting usually comply with the NEC and like to protect a least with one set of fuses.

a) It is test link (dummy fuses) is a recommended solution instead fuses in series?

b) If fuses should be used, are the line fuses larger than the upstream fuses in the CVT?

Thanks in advance for your comments.
