Teamcenter with I-deas & NX

Teamcenter with I-deas & NX

Teamcenter with I-deas & NX

(OP)
Can anyone shed some light on using Teamcenter with I-deas & NX ?

Is it possible to bring an I-deas part into NX using teamcenter ?

As we move down the migration path from I-deas to NX, I need to work out the best way to handle legacy data.

The plan is to have seats of both I-deas & NX but get rid of the I-deas STEP translators and only use the NX version

How would I handle checking a part out of Teamcenter into i-deas to make a change, then having to take that part into NX to export as a step file ?

RE: Teamcenter with I-deas & NX

Have you tried the interoperability in I-deas?
Check in I-deas about "File->Interoperate" and "File->Unigraphics open"
You can export parts from I-deas library to .xpk format. Then you can open it in NX...
There is a way to connect NX to I-deas library. But in this case you need to have one I-deas open in the LAN as a server application, and NX connects through it.

RE: Teamcenter with I-deas & NX

an NX Step license should be the same as an I-Deas Step license.  Shouldn't be a problem as long as you are running "like" versions of each software (NXI-Deas 5 & NX5).

You could also do what Dimo suggested, however I don't think you will need to.

You could pobably use CMM too, but that might be overkill for what you are trying to accomplish
