How do you model welds in I-DEAS????

How do you model welds in I-DEAS????

(OP)
Hi,

I'm new to FEAs and I-DEAS.  I need help on how to model welds.  I've found that defining connector elements can be used to do this.  The Help Library says a lot of nice things but does not specifically tell you how to do it.  In attempt to define a connection, I cannot find a MCF file to use; and when trying user define, I need two PIDs and I don't understand why.  I haven't been able to get past this.

Can someone provide a step-by-step procedure on how to model welds or a tutorial that I can follow to practice?

Any help or advise would great.  Thanks.
