SolidWorks 2007 compatibility btwn SP2.2 & SP4.0

SolidWorks 2007 compatibility btwn SP2.2 & SP4.0

(OP)
Hi,

I have created several parts & an assembly in SW2007 SP2.2
I sent it across to one of my colleagues who has SW2007 SP4
All the parts are opening good, but when he tries to open the assembly it gives an error message "Unknown file format".

Can anybody tell me what the problem might be & what is the solution for this?

As per my knowledge the parts & assembly format should be recognized between the service packs for the same version, in my case SW2007. So I am fully confused & blank on this one!. Any help is greatly appreciated.

RE: SolidWorks 2007 compatibility btwn SP2.2 & SP4.0

Did you send them via e-mail? If so, the assembly file might be corrupt.

You are correct to say that files should be compatible between service packs. Chances are that the file is corrupt.

RE: SolidWorks 2007 compatibility btwn SP2.2 & SP4.0

How many configurations are set up in the assembly?  SP4 had an issue with configurations.  I would update to SP5.0 which is really stable.

The configurations might be the issue here. I have 50 configurations in the assembly!!! I am surprised this should be an issue between the service packs!

Assembly file is not corrupt as it is opening in SP2.2 and not opening in SP4.0

Will test by deleting a few configs & give it a try again or more better update to SP5.0. Thanks to Heckler...
