HR BS

HR BS

(OP)
Someone has just moved on from here.  Apparently he:

"aligned the organisation to its growth challenge"

Wow!  Wish I could do that

didda dunt dunt dunt... another one bites the dust

RE: HR BS

Never, ever, ever trust HR.  EVER!

RE: HR BS

Oddly enough it was the HR director leaving.  I don't recall a "headcount reduction" while he was here.  Very confusing.  Top marks for the BS bingo phrase though.

RE: HR BS

"HR BS", I didn't know you could be redundant with just letters.

RE: HR BS

Is there any chance that phrase was tongue-in-cheek?  I actually knew one HR Director that I became friends with.  She would intentionally use those "bingo phrases" to poke fun at HR herself.

Speaking of language and grammar, I thought your use of "moved on from here" referred to someone dying.

RE: HR BS

The last boss of our division got moved into some business development position.  At least that was the initial formal announcement.

Later in an all hands the Chairman/Acting CEO basically said something like 'we wish her well in whatever she does next' or something like that, making it clear she'd been let go.  I think he even went on about when the team does poorly you sometimes have to change the manager or something.

I found this moderately amusing.  We all new it at the time of the initial announcement but I was surprised that within a few days the CEO was so candid!

RE: HR BS

Moving on could be used in relation to death, but in the US it is a pretty common reference to someone who leaves a job.

It has been my experience that whey an announcement is made that someone has "moved on to other opportunities" they either fired that person, or they are pissed off that the person is leaving and they want people in the organization to wonder if the person was fired.

RE: HR BS

Did they rename it to HR because nobody could spell personnel correctly?

Then again, we get reminded of them when we're on holiday.  In the UK, Holiday Routes (routes for wasting petrol) are marked HR.
