Corrosion rated of uncoated steel
Corrosion rated of uncoated steel
(OP)
Can anyone provide generally accepted anticipated rates of corrosion for uncoated steel exposed to the elements? I realize the rates of corrosion will vary based on a myriad of environmental criteria, but are there some basic ranges of corrosion rates that can be provided?
Thanks,
Tim

In more corrosive environments rates extend to 0.012in/yr.
You can find this information in many FHWA or NCHRP references.
