Help - I seem to have lost the ability to colour, both the Colour & texture icons are grayed out. I've searched the options to no avail. I'm using 2008
Thanks

Rob,
Can you further elaborate? I have realview turned on and can color/texturize to my heart's content...

RE: Colour & texture icon grayed out

In 2008 when realview is turned on you lose the basic coloring and texturing controls in SW.  You can still color and texturize your model with RealView enabled but you have to do it through the RealView interface.  The basic SW colors and textures are overidden by RealView and therefore the icons are not available.  So if Realview is off you use the basic SW colors to color and texture the model.  If RealView is on use use RealView controls to color and texture the model.  I don't know but it's my guess SW colors and textures will completely go away in the future and be replaced by RealView. This would make life simpler :)

I'd have to check but I believe any physical material properties applied in SW will carry over into RealView automatically.  I know there is a toggle for this in PW.

RE: Colour & texture icon grayed out

My guess is the same as Rob.  The SW colors and textures will probably go away in the future, most likely when laptops catch up a bit.  As it is, if you don't have a graphics card installed then you are limited to SW textures and appearances only (RV is not enabled when SW is enabled by default).
