Flamable Tank

Flamable Tank

Flamable Tank

(OP)
1. I will like to know the minimum disatance required between 2 vertical flamable storage tanks. I want to  know the formula to use in calculating the expected distance.

example I have a 32m diameter tank and 72m diameter tanks as well to be built on same site. What will be the distance required  between the 2 tanks.

2.How do I determine the height of bond wall in a tank farm.

3.what is the required distance from the tank farm to other facilities like offices, homes etc

RE: Flamable Tank

You would greatly benefit from aquiring and reading NFPA 30.  Go to their web site.

Where are you located (country) which codes and standards are your storage tanks designed and built to and what are the fire protection regulations applicableto your site ?

What are the flashpoints and vapor pressures of all the liquids you intend to store ?

What are the distances to occupied buildings and has an international insurance company reviewed your plans ?

Have you ever designed and/or constructed tank farms, are you about twenty three and is this your first engineering assignment and does your boss know anything about storage tank engineering ?

RE: Flamable Tank

In the US, this will be regulated by NFPA 30 and/or local fire codes.  If you're not in the US, I have no idea what codes would apply, possibly not any.
