MIS recently upgraded my operating system from Windows 2000 to XP.  I use Autodesk Map 2005 on a network license; no settings were saved during the system upgrade.  I can not right click to bring up menu with "PROPERTIES".  The right click was fine until the upgrade.  MIS is of no help on the matter, they are knowledge limited to installaion only.  Other users are stumped by my problem and are concerned MIS may "fix" their computers soon.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

RE: Right Click Properties

Ask MIS to uninstall re-install Map 2005? If you don't have to many customizations, this may be the quickest route.

RE: Right Click Properties

You might look into the PICKFIRST system variable.  I believe that is where the problem was when my autocad did the same thing.

Thanks for the suggestions.

PICKFIRST is not the problem . . .  attached is a bitmap of the right click menu that is brought up after selecting a line with the standard left click mouse.

It would appear that this should be controlled under "OPTIONS"  "USER PREFERENCES Windows Standard Behavior"  "RIGHT CLICK - CUSTOMIZATION".  Is there some other locaton that has an influence on the SHORT CUT MENU.

RE: Right Click Properties

PICKFIRST should be set to 1.  Also check the options under the tools menu.  Under the selection tab, make sure noun/verb is checked.  HOwever, PICKFIRST controls the noun/verb selection, so if that isn't the problem, none of this is going to help.

RE: Right Click Properties

To my knowlege, the User Preferences under Tools/Options should bring back your menus.  Be sure though, that when you click on "Right Click Customization" that in each section, the last radio button is marked.  Otherwise you won't see any menus.

Thanks to All.  I am up and running.

PICKFIRST 0 gave me no menu when right clicking
PICKFIRST 1 gave me the limited menu when right clicking

I repeated these actions several times without a change in the results.  PICKFIRST was not toggling the non/verb switch.

Then I manually enabled the noun/verb switch and PICKFIRST 0 and 1 once again worked as designed and toggled noun/verb.  Am I missing something? Software glitch???

Should there be more problems I will follow atook's advise and request MIS reload AutoCad.  (Other items of interest are my CD burner will not operate.  MIS responded by loading deleting ROXIO and installing NERO 8 and ACROBAT 8; my CD burner stil does  not work.)
