Volume of complex assembly

Volume of complex assembly

Volume of complex assembly

(OP)
Pro/E has the Model Analysis tool that can be used to calculate the volume of a part/assembly. However, it calculates the total solid volume. How can I calculate the volume envelope for an assembly that has a significant number of surfaces (the volume that would be displaced by a sealed assembly in water)?

RE: Volume of complex assembly

You ca try making an envelope part.  You will have to set the quality pretty high to get a watertight solid.  Depending on the size of your assembly, Pro/E may lock up or crash so save first.  It will work better if you can suppress any completely internal parts or use a simplified rep.
