o-ring design

(OP)
Hello,
I would like to know if the design formulas for O-ring design parameters such as the glad dimensions, squeeze, extrusion gap, etc. vary greatly for pressure above 1500 psi.  I have a joint that could see 3000psi.  Also what are the benefits of a contoured backing ring verses a flat one.  This joint is static with a face seal and maybe another male gland seal.

Thanks

RE: o-ring design

there is loads of information on Oring groove designs on the net here is one link that may assist.  scroll down to pressure vs clearnce and trust this helps.
