WaterCAD, (Message ID 40005) Problem?
(OP)
Hi all again,
I am here to get help from those lucky engineers who solved all their problems with watercad and can use it whatever way they want.
Here is my deal...
I built the system, reservoirs, pumps, junctions, hydrants, gpvs, entered all elevation information for them, pump curves, gpv curves...The only thing missing is some demands at some junctions. I dont have the data yet...
When I validate the system I dont get any errors but when i run the system, it says 40005 and Network Unbalanced.
So what is that supposed to mean? How can I balance the network? What is it asking to me?
After I do that, how can I get this system work like in real world? Any information for that?
Thank a lot for all the help...

RE: WaterCAD, (Message ID 40005) Problem?
From the error message you quote it appears the error is not related to the particular program you happen to be using. Rather, it is likely there is some error in your input data. Remember the basics:
1. The sum of all flows in to and out of any junction must be zero.
2. The headlosses around any loop must be the same regardless of the route taken.
If both these conditions are not met, the system is "out of balance". This appears to be your problem.
Check all your input data:
Are all pumps on ?
Are all valves open ?
Are all pipes defined correctly?
Are all reservoirs and sources open and active?
Are all tanks correctly defined ?
Have you defined an allowable error ( allowable imbalance) unrealistically small ?
Are all your elevations realistic ?
good luck
