GE 90-30 advantages over AB PLC-5

GE 90-30 advantages over AB PLC-5

(OP)
I'm looking for any kind of information that anyone can give me on the differences and/or advantages that either the GE 90-30 holds over the AB PLC-5 and vice-versa. Any information would be a great help and would be very appreciated!

RE: GE 90-30 advantages over AB PLC-5

They're not really apples-to-apples. The 90-30 is closer in size and features to the SLC500 line. The PLC-5 and the 90-70 are more closely matched.

Both platforms are getting a bit long in the tooth. Neither represent the latest and greatest from their respective manufacturers. AB's current flagship the the Control Logix line. GE Fanuc's is the PAC Systems platform.

I agree with SteveBailey.... If your looking to install new controls, use the respective flagship products.  The Control Logix family has been released for more than 5 years; It is very stable now.
