Advanced Simulation

Does anyone know anything about using the Advanced Simulation tool through Unigraphics?  I have tried to perform an fea on many different parts that I have created and get the same error message.  I have attached a screen shot of the error message that I am getting.  Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand what you mean by that.

RE: Advanced Simulation

Since the error message alluded to the fact that you can't access certain files, it's possible that you don't read/write priviledges to those same files.

It is also worth checking that NX Nastran was installed at all.  It is a separate install to NG now (whereas Scenario was installed as part of UG).  Also check the paths set in the dpv file point to where NX Nastran was installed.

RE: Advanced Simulation

How can you determine if NXNastran is installed?

RE: Advanced Simulation

Check the "ugii_env.dat" file in your %UGII_ROOT_DIR% directory.
Look for following variables: UGII_NX_NASTRAN and UGII_NX_NASTRAN_VERSION.

And don't forget to restart NX. ;)

John,
I can not open the file that you sent me because they were created on a newer version than I have.  I am using NX4.0.

All,
Is there an easy way to go from Advanced Simulation back to Modeling?  I have been having to close all part files in order to get back into modeling.
